“Como representantes comprometidos con la sostenibilidad y la protección ambiental, tengamos presente que es un paso significativo en nuestro camino hacia la excelencia en el servicio público y de manera preponderante en la gestión de nuestros recursos naturales y en la reducción de nuestro impacto ambiental”, expresó la titular de SEMA, Huguette Hernández.

La SEMA capacita al personal que labora en las instituciones para que puedan aplicar el SMA, cuyo objetivo es reducir el impacto ambiental causado por las actividades diarias mediante el uso racional, responsable y eficiente de sus recursos naturales, generar una eficiencia en el consumo y costo de los recursos (agua, energía y materiales de oficina) y realizar un manejo integral de los residuos.
El proceso de acreditación del Sistema de Manejo Ambiental (SMA), incluye un análisis y diagnóstico de las instalaciones hidráulicas, eléctricas, de equipos electrónicos y sistemas de iluminación; consumo responsable de los materiales de oficina y la adquisición de productos amigables con el medio ambiente; separación y disposición final de residuos sólidos; y difusión y sensibilización sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente.

Aunado a ello, también tienen el programa Fomento a la Lectura, que consiste en crear círculos de estudio en pequeñas bibliotecas al interior de escuelas o asociaciones, a quienes se les proporciona material para que impulsen la lectura.
